On Wednesday 18 October , an interfaith peace vigil was held at the Snow Room, in York Council offices, West Building. The vigil was organised by York Interfaith Group. Rabbi Elisheva, Ben Rich, Lilian Coulson, Lauren McNeilage and Sarah Hubbard ( interfaith rep)  attended from YLJC.  The  vigil was also attended by the Lord Mayor of York, the leader of York City Council, and members of YIG. Representatives from faith groups across the city, shared peace prayers from their faiths and lit candles. Rabbi Elisheva recited the  Kaddish in Hebrew and then read a moving translation of the prayer by Marge Piercy. Faith leaders in the city re-affirmed their commitment to working together and to ensuring that faith communities across York maintain their existing positive relationships. They also expressed their desire for peace across the world, including in Israel and Gaza.
