Weekend of 3rd & 4th March: Purim Celebrations

We are delighted to be marking Purim this year on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March as follows:

Adult Purim celebrations

Saturday 3rd March, 5 – 7pm, adult Purim celebrations to be held jointly with University J-Soc on the York University Main Campus, room D/L/006 in Derwent College (click here for directions).

A ‘whimsical’ event to be led by Student Rabbi Gabriel Webber to include megillah reading, quiz, games and fun for all young and older adults alike.  Please bring  Purim – themed food and drink:  bite size savoury (vegetarian) and sweet snacks / cakes  (including hamentashen!), as well as soft and alcoholic drinks (including wine, in the spirit of Purim).

(The JSoc has requested that all foods have ingredients labelled to assist those who are strictly kosher and/or have allergies.)

Children’s Purim Party

Sunday 4th March, 2-4pm, children’s Purim party, at the home of our member, Katrina, in Poppleton.  Retelling of the Purim story and other activities.  Please dress up and please bring Hamantachen or another contribution to a children’s feast.
