Other communities have just one seder a year, or two but both at Pesach.   We spread ours out a bit with our now traditional, child-friendly and slightly anarchic Rosh Hashannah Seder, led this year by Rabbi Rachel Benjamin.

From 6-7.30pm on Sunday 29th September expect an introduction to Rosh Hashannah’s rich food traditions including not just apples and honey, but: challah; pomegranates, carrots, lettuce, beans and beetroots; dates, nuts and olives; fish (heads) and even fair-trade chocolate.  Followed by a community bring-and-share meal.

Venue: Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, YO23 1BW

Time: 5.30pm onwards, starting promptly at 6pm – 7.30pm.

Transport: Easily accessible by bus and walking distance from York Station.  Parking in the school car park opposite

Food and drink: Please bring a sweet or savoury contribution to the bring and share meal, representative where possible of one of the foods above.  Please label for vegetarians and allergies.

Please pre-book as it really helps organisation and set-up.  To let us know you are coming please complete this form asap as space is limited:
