Sunday 9th – 30th September: High Holy Day Services

Please join us for any or all of our High Holy Day Services throughout September.

Members should receive tickets by post, included in the cost of membership, detailing the full arrangements.  Non-members may purchase tickets (£40 each for adults, free to children and students) by emailing   (Please do contact in cases of hardship as we would not wish anyone to feel unable to attend.)

Sunday 9th September, – 6.30pm, Erev Rosh Hashannah Seder, St Clement’s Hall, Nunthorpe Rd, York YO23 1BW (Parking in Scarcroft School), led by Student Rabbi Elliott Karstadt – bring and share meal based around foods symbolic for the New Year – please bring a contribution based on apples, honey, pomegranates, carrots, olives, dates or other foods which are meaningful for you at this time of year.

Monday 10th September, 11am, Rosh HashannahFriargate Quaker Meeting House, led by Student Rabbi Elliott Karstadt (No shared meal)

Saturday 15th September, 11am, Shabbat morning serviceFriargate Quaker Meeting House, led by student Rabbi Gabriel Webber (Cheder restarts; no shared lunch)

Tuesday 18th September, 7pm, Kol Nidre, Friargate Quaker Meeting House, led by Student Rabbi Elliott Karstadt

Wednesday 19th September, 11am, Yom KippurFriargate Quaker Meeting House. Services throughout the day ending around 7pm led by Student Rabbi Elliott Karstadt

Sunday 23rd September, 2pm, Sukkot, Friargate Quaker Meeting House, Community sukkah building and prayers and bring and share afternoon tea.  Please also bring fruit and veg to decorate the sukkah.

Sunday 30 September, 6pm, Simchat Torah At the home of one of our members.  Email for further information.   Bring and share finger foods (cold only).
